Another vendor of dynamic test design and analysis software is Tai-Ji Control.
I have only seen his paper and his claims. He uses a different type of model
for analysis and converts it to a step response model, if that is what is
needed. This is a small company and likely doesn't have the product suite
that Aspen or Honeywell would have, but the technique may be fundamentally
superior.

Here is his information:

In general Tai-Ji ID will have better model quality than DMC Plus model for
the same test data when you compare model predictions. But the full power of
Tai-Ji ID is obtained when our test method is used. Using automatic
multivariable and (partial) closed-loop test, we can cut the test time by 70%
while deliver better model quality.
